|David Figlio will be discussing the Pitfalls and Promise of School Choice and Accountability. The Bob Graham Center for Public Service School choice and school accountability policies are designed to improve student outcomes by facilitating better matches between students and schools and by changing incentives for educators. However, the potential success or failure of these policies depends crucially on the way in which they are designed. In his talk, David Figlio will describe the conditions under which choice and accountability policies are more or less likely to succeed, and discuss the evidence on choice and accountability policies in Florida and the nation as a whole.|
The talk is sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the Bob Graham Center.
